Fifth grade students have been hard at work the last couple of weeks. They started off by creating rhythms using Halloween themed erasers. Next the create their own xylophone piece by assigning notes to each of the rhythms. I am looking forward to hearing all their wonderful compositions this week!
First grade students just finished a unit learning about high and low sounds. Students played step bells (see picture) to "Ebeenzer Sneezer". In another lesson they added instruments to the book "Mortimer". Students had lots of fun singing Mortimer's song and adding high/low sounds to when characters of the story went up and down the stairs. I am super excited to be making music at Howard D. Crull Elementary! Crull is full of great students and I look forward to getting them more throughout the school year.
